Terms of Service
Last updated: February 2026
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using CriticCode, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. CriticCode is operated by Robin Goudeketting, based in Austria.
2. The service
CriticCode provides a hiring assessment tool that allows companies to evaluate candidates' code judgment. Hiring managers create invitations and purchase assessments. Candidates receive one-time links to complete those assessments.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your password. Notify us immediately at support@critic.codes if you suspect unauthorised access.
4. Payments
Assessments are paid per candidate at the time of invitation. Prices are displayed at checkout. All payments are processed by Stripe. Payments are non-refundable once an invitation has been sent to a candidate, as the service has been delivered regardless of whether the candidate completes the assessment.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service to assess candidates without their knowledge or consent.
- Share, resell, or redistribute assessment content.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or reproduce the assessment challenges or snippets.
- Interfere with the service or circumvent any access controls.
6. Intellectual property
All assessment content (challenges, code snippets, and scoring) is owned by CriticCode. Your account data and candidate responses belong to you. You grant us a limited licence to store and process that data to deliver the service.
7. No hiring advice — use at your own discretion
CriticCode is a screening tool, not a professional assessment service. Assessment results — including scores and candidate reasoning — are provided for informational purposes only. They do not constitute professional advice, and they provide no legal basis for any employment decision. We make no warranty, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, fitness, or completeness of any assessment result.
You are solely responsible for any hiring decisions you make. CriticCode accepts no liability for decisions made based on assessment outcomes, and results should never be the sole basis for rejecting or selecting a candidate.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from use of the service is limited to the amount you paid in the 3 months prior to the claim.
8. Termination
You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@critic.codes. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by Austrian law. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in Austria.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. We will notify account holders of material changes by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
